Installation of Water Treatment Plant Equipment
WESCAN Electrical Mechanical Services provided mechanical and electrical services relating to the installation of the water treatment plant equipment. The existing plant was upgraded to meet the requirements of the new and existing equipment. The pre-treatment and water softening systems were modified to suit the new design requirements. The new demineralisation section of the water treatment plant, located in the power house, replace the existing system. The acid and caustic systems were completely replaced, with the exception of the existing bulk storage tanks.
Mechanical work included the material supply, fabrication and
installation of interconnecting piping system, painting of all structural
steelwork and the insulation and installation of Owner supplied
equipment. Equipment included pressure filters, demineralisation
units, acid and caustic regeneration packages, neutralisation system,
pumps tanks and heat exchangers.
Electrical scope of work included removal of existing and replacement
of motor control centre, installation of Owner supplied power transformer,
cable tray system, interior and exterior light fixtures, power requirements
and the grounding and control system.
