Compressed Air Energy Optimization Design Build

WESCAN Electrical Mechanical Services Special Projects team worked in conjunction with Manitoba Hydro Business Engineering Services. To design, engineer and install an energy-efficient compressed air system utilizing all available existing equipment. Manitoba Hydro Business Engineering Services performed a complete audit of Kitchen Craft’s existing compressed air facilities. WESCAN Special Projects analyzed the data recorded from this audit and designed, engineered and installed a complete turnkey installation comprised of the following:

• Engineering of software to track, record and monitor energy inputs to all connected devices
• Engineering of electrical
• Engineering of controls
• Engineering of mechanical
• Project management and installation of system

The payback for the above-mentioned project came in at approximately 1.8 years. Other similar projects and associated paybacks are as follows:

MacDon Industries 1.6 years

Upon completion of all above-mentioned projects, the customers experienced an energy-efficient trouble-free system with improved performances. This led to thousands of dollars in energy savings.
